Text Box: GoNewarkU, local businesses, and Newark colleges have joined forces to deliver a week of fun events for college students. And, getting to these events is free with NJ TRANSIT's Free Trial Week where the train, bus, and light rail are free to all post-secondary school students. September 15 through September 21 has been designated as College Week in Newark. GoNewarkU is a non-profit cooperative effort between Newark organizations, colleges and universities designed to showcase downtown attractions, restaurants, shops and venues to the collegiate population. The program encourages students attending Rutgers-Newark, NJIT, UMDNJ, Essex County College, Seton Hall Law School and Berkeley College to shop, eat, and socialize in downtown Newark.
